Default The Rose Award For 10-6-2006. A.L. Playoffs Edition.

The Rose Award goes to Marco Scutaro of the Oakland Athletics, who went
two-for-four with four RBI in a 8-3 win over the Minnesota Twins.

Oakland, 0-9 in potential division series-clinching games since 2000,
ends 'curse' with the 8-3 victory to complete the sweep.

The Angels' Bill Stoneman also contributed towards the A's success this
season, but he doesn't want to hear about it.

I'm wondering if there's *even one* player that gets excited if they
"win".

Scutaro was really good. By giving him this award, are you claiming he
was playing hard because he had bet on the game, or what? I don't
think I get why you would want to insult a really good player by
associating him with the name of a guy who has been banned for life
from the game. But hey, it's a free country.

Yes, it's a free country. Free enough for you to get 4,256 hits in
major league baseball. Only thing is, you have to be good enough to do
so.
