As one who claims baseball players are unemotional at times, I too was so
impressed. It actually brought tears to my eyes.

If the Padres cannot pull off the miracle, the Tigers have my vote.

Go Padres!

Go Tigers!

Agreed, Barb. Detroit is a great baseball city.

The guy who took over that team at its lowest point, a few years ago,
was San Diego native Alan Trammel. As Manager he helped rebuild
them, and gave young players a chance to grow playing in the Bigs.

Then the team dumped him and brought in Jim Leyland. Now it is
Leyland who gets all the credit, and Alan Trammel is forgotten.

Compare that to the way Bochy was handled. He also took over
a basket case team in 1994 and played the young guys. But the
Pads front office stayed with Bruce, and he has repaid their confi-
dence again and again.

Now if he would JUST pitch around Pujols. :O

Did you see the guy pouring Champagne over the cops head who was
"escorting" him as they sprayed the fans and exchanged hi-fives?

That was priceless.

Kudos to Detroit fans...they stayed there and "soaked" it all up.

Good luck to Detroit in the ALCS and hopefully the WS.
The class they showed to their fans when they won the ALDS series won a lot
of fans out here.
There are no other teams that I give a rat's ass about left in the playoffs,
so I might as well root for a team that appreciates its fans.

If had been in San Diego the cops would be explaining why their guy had to
shoot Rogers because he was wielding a deadly weapon.
