Default Torre as manager?

Several outlets are reporting Joe Torre will be fired by the Yankees, so
there will be another candidate for the Cubs opening. Any thoughts?

If he can't win with the best players in the history of the game, how
is he going to win with anyone the Cubs can field?

You do realize Torre had jobs before New York, right?

So we are going to worry about the postseason record of the new manager?

Mike

Classic example of just how the American education system has failed
this country. Please, explain to the class how you arrived at this
nugget of logic.

Dr. Pompous Professor

Joe Torre regularly gets his teams to the postseason. Is there someone who
regularly win the WS available?

He may be considered old for the Supreme Court or the papacy, but I suspect
he has five or ten good years left in the tank. The Cubs will probably go
through two or three managers in that amount of time.

BTW, where did you do your graduate work?

One more time for those of you too stupid to have understood the first
time:

Joe Torre could not win the World Series with the "greatest lineup ever
assembled" (Versions 1-6)--what makes you think he could get anywhere
NEAR the playoffs with ANYTHING the Chicago National League franchise
could assemble in 2007?

Funny you should mention "the tank"--that's where the last team not
named the Yankees were when Joe Torre left them.
