Default The Rose Award For 10-7-2006. N.L. Playoffs Edition.

The Rose Award goes to James Loney of the Los Angeles Dodgers, who went
three-for-four with three RBI in a 9-5 loss to the New York Mets.

The Dodgers overcame a 4-0 deficit, but their bullpen failed them as
the Mets sweep the series.

The Dodgers talk of a better season next year, but Maddux and
Garciaparra will be a year older, and the rookies this year had the
team in last place in late July.

This week the Rose Award goes to former Congressional Rep. Mark Foley,
whose behavior under duress easily matches for class and style that of
Pete Rose himself.
