The Rose Award goes to Ronnie Belliard of the St. Louis Cardinals, who
went one-for-three with two RBI and scored one run in a 6-2 win over the San Diego Padres. The Cardinals staggered and sputtered their way into the postseason but they turned it on when it counted to finish off San Diego. The Padres' ace, Jake Peavy, was saved for a possible Game 5, a game that will never happen. Better to have used him yesterday in an attempt to *have a Game 5, and then be concerned about who would start it, probably Woody Williams, who would've benefitted from the extra day's rest. |

A NON- award goes once and for all to Bruce Bochy. He and he alone
failed to make the right decisions before, during and after each game. Failure to inspire, to show enthusiasm, to put in Peavy before or After Woody was lifted! He should have used every G D pitcher we had. The name of the game is WIN. Worry about tomorrow when that day comes! and his rotten pinch hitting decisions as well, the wrong man at the wrong time ! Bochy looked bored and looked as if he was coming down from "smokin` some BAAAD weed".... Stick a fork in this useless disgruntled downer, he is so DONE! Bochy has definitely stayed waaaay toooo long at this BALL ! Barb =^..^= |

Your emotions are getting the better of you, Barb. It ain't Bochy's fault we can't hit. Quote:
Umm....okay, let's assume he puts Peavy in and we come back to win. Who the hell do we pitch in game 5 then? Quote:
He used the guy who had a 1.07 ERA and was far and away our best relief pitcher this year. It didn't work out. Shit happens. Quote:
Bochy didn't lose the series. Our players lost the series because the Cardinals are a better team than we are. |

The object was to win. We have a list of pitchers that could have
pitched for 2 or 3 innings. It`s been done before. Look back on your miles of stats and, Yes, old time managers did it! Yes, it is Bochy`s fault he put in "The hollow Asparagus" Greene to pitch hit? Klesko who`s been hitting , he put in Bellhorn?? I`m sick of his attitude, his defeated look, and his total interest in on how far his spit falls ! His time is over. And he can take anyone who voices the opinion they cannot hit in Petco Park with him. When A team doesn`t respect themselves OR their LONG suffering fans enough to win then it`s time for a change. I respect your opinion and I would love it if somebody would give me just enough respect that I`m an Old Jacked UP bitch that`s been a fan of baseball A LONG time .Dodgers were in Brooklyn and the Padres were in the PCL. So I`ve seen some strange things, Pal. And Yes, managers would put their grandma`s into a game if she could pitch , hit or play 3rd! Barb =^..^= |

We started a guy who had won his last five starts, and when he faltered, we replaced him with our best reliever. Just because the result was unfavorable doesn't mean either decision was incorrect. You're being a Monday morning quarterback here. Quote:
Greene didn't pinch hit. He came in on a double switch because Blum had made the last out the previous inning and we have nobody else who can play shortstop. There is not a manager in the game who would have handled that situation differently than Bochy did. Quote:
So you think a team can just will itself to victory by being animated and emotional, even if they're clearly overmatched by the competition? |
