Just when I though I was starting to understand basketball a little bit, I hear this: "Fred Jones, who spent most of the fourth quarter running the team from the point while Calderon played off the ball, led Toronto with 17 points while Chris Bosh had 14 in just 27 minutes." http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/Co...d=1160430612648 Calderon, a "pass-first pure point gaurd", playing off the ball, while high flying Freddy Boom-Boom Jones plays at point? WTF? Anybody see this? Comments? In anycase, the sweathogs on the raptors second unit seemed to do quite well. Good news so far. Cheers. |

It's pre-season, so I hope they are just trying things out. I don't want to see Calderon playing SG while Jones plays PG. No need for that. Calderon doesn't have SG skills, while Jones has decent SG skills. -- Cheers, Pr0metheus. |

I'm sure they're just trying things out, and likely, trying to maximize
minutes for the reserves, though I don't see why they didn't just put Jones at the 2. But anyway, the important thing is that Fred Jones at 17 points. I really like this signing of Fred Jones, we finally have a guy coming off the bench who is capable of putting up 15-20 points. I think Jones is kind of a streaky player that Mitchell could put out there whenver our starting offense isn't quite clicking and see if Jones can inject a little energy.
