This just might work. It would cost us one or two of our pitchers but
this guy is real good. He's 22, 6' 1" 160 and has played his way up the minor league system in 4 years and is now 'parked' behind Michael Young Texas' All Star SS. Arias is a shortstop only. Texas Always needs pitching! Scouting report on Arias: Best infielder in Ranger system, Best arm, Best athelete all around, Great speed going from 1st to 3rd! Only fair at stealing bases, hit .315 in 2005 at AA, hit .278 last year AAA. Had 6 hits in 11 ABs the last week of this season. Goofy looking! |

Really Goofy! BUT! Wolfagain after 7 Heinies is NOW Indians GM! Peralta? Trade bait for a TOP relief Arm! NO NL pitchers need apply! My next move; as stated before Kouz to left field! Love Natural hitters! Only Free Agent I like is Tory Hunter! Siz to left! He's a TEAM Player without an Ego! Our BEST! Marte gets MORE time! But by June! Better show me some IMPROVEMENT at the plate! Gotta get rid of that upper cut home run swing! We saw it with Branyand and it DIDN't work! I want Reyes from Minn Twins! Top Relief pitcher! Of course I also want to go on a 'teddy' bear 'picnic' with the Olson twins too! Even though they have got a little too old for my fantasies! Help! Indians' new GM lusting after Olson Twins! Dolan NOT impressed! Wolfagain has a 'meeting' with the Boss. I wonder what this is about? Maybe another Heinie will clear up my confusion. Cheers! |

I started out yesterday 'pretending' to be Shapiro in search for an Omar type SS. Kinda figured Texas might have what I was looking for with Young unmovable at SS and found Arias. Checked out about 15 possibilities until I found this guy. The "Teddy Bear" picnic thing is what happens when a man has too much time and way too many Heinekens! |

Your cost greatly bothered me: for a minor-leaguer to cost two major leaguers... he has to be better than A-Rod or someone like that. If he's *that* good, you'd think Texas would be looking to deal Michael Young ![]() Plus, I'd be OK with a primarily defensive SS for the Indians next year if it allowed us to keep our SP intact. Peralta could get us a decent bullpen arm. Our offense is excellent as it is, we should probably look to fill the biggest holes. Quote:
A .278 hitter at AAA, IMHO, isn't worth one or two of our pitchers. Not saying I wouldn't like to have him, but that's a steep price for a position that isn't too bad. Think you could get a six-pack tonight and look up bullpen help / formulate an exact trade for this guy? ![]() |

The two pitchers i was thinking of were Byrd and a minor leage pitcher Guthrie. This guy, Arias, is going to attract several teams looking for a SS at a low price! He won't come cheap. |
