Default You are so lucky.

I just got a ticket for the first game. I paid the maximum permitted by New
York law, more then twice face value. When I was searching for a ticket the
least expensive were for the games in St. Louis. It is good not to have 18
million people in your teams area.

Well, I agree with that. But you do know that the last time the Mets
outdrew the Cardinals was in 1990, don't you?

We love the fact St. Louis metro area has "only" 2.6 million people,
which is plenty large enough to have all the comforts of L.A./Chicago/NYC
(exc. Broadway plays) but not the huge traffic jams, much higher
cost-of-living, smog, crowding, faster pace, and other negative consequences
of living in those largest cities.

Yes, imagine if NYC had a couple of football teams, how terrible it would be...

East Rutherford has two NFL teams and LA has none. Go figure.

Bob Elliot and Ray Goulding used to open their radio show on WOR AM,
back in the stone age, with an apparently serious early-50's
big-band-and-crooner's ode to that earthly paradise, Cleveland. It
contained a passage that went, "The folks here play and sing, 'cause
here we have everything... in this city... with many industries... It's
the BEST location in the nation! C-L-E... V-E-L... A-N-D!!! Now if you
have not been here... you've not been anywhere... so come to Cleveland
[waah waah]... Yes, Cleveland [waah waah]... O-hiiiiiii-o!"

Cleveland is the crown jewel of the Midwest. All others are Number Two
or lower.

I visited the *Garden State* a couple of times when I visited a
cousin who lives there.
He worked in mid-Manhattan for a few years, not far from Ground Zero
and was at work that day.
