Default Anybody notice Detroit's strategy against Zito?

Anybody notice Detroit's strategy against Zito?

Detroit laid off Zito's first pitch. It was an incredible LaRussa-esque plan
that Leyland used.

Zito lost some big bucks in free agency with that loss.

If the Series becomes Detroit-St Louis, then I think we will se lots of
manager moves in the came. It may even take the appearance of human baseball
chess.

Leyland is an exceptionally good manager. Glad to see he is having some
success with the kids in Detriot.

How is that LaRussa-esque? He tends to stock his team full of players who
swing a the first pitch...

That's not accurate, Jeremy. Tony always employs a game plan. Take the
series against the Padres, for example. There was a batting strategy
employed against the Pads' pitcher on Saturday(can't recall his name at
the moment) that didn't work. Tony and Hal McCrae changed the batting
strategy for Sunday's game.

Go Cards,
Tom

That would serve the soulless alien mercenary that owns Fox right.
Detroit-St Louis, actually the best would be Oakland-St Louis. The only
sound you will hear is crickets in the outfield.
