Something like this Lidle crash proves you wrong. I assume it's the
usual trolls from here and over there, most having hastily and cowardly created new aliases. May these assholes be forced to walk on hot embers. And I'm thinking good thoughts for Lidle's family and that of his instructor. -- DON !!! GOING BASIC !!! GO 200SEVEN BOSTON RED SOX !!! |

I am hanging out over here for the day. Those dirty mothers over on my normal NG are about the lowest form of life anywhere. If they were standing in front of me, there would be several less pieces of shit walking around. |

I just visited and I can't believe the sick crap over there. I think the majority are just trolls from elsewhere, but still, these "people" have absolutely no soul. |

Same here. This is such a sad, surreal story. I'm just in sheer and utter shock over it. (Even before we learned it was Lidle, you can imagine all the terrorist fears that New Yorkers have when these kinds of accidents first happen.) My deepest sympathies are with the Lidle family, his friends, teammates, the Yankee organization and the other victims of this crash. It's a real tragedy, and I know that the overwhelming majority of people, regardless of which teams they root for, feel this way. It's a shame that some sick people feel compelled to joke about this kind of thing. -Bismo. |

++++++++++ It is hard to believe that the hatred for the Yankees is so strong that people would behave that way. I doubt that there would be the same reaction if he was still a Philly, or played for the Indians, for example. I was not on baseball newsgroups when the Indian pitchers had their boating accident, so I have no idea what the reaction was then. I suspect it was not as ugly. I strongly dislike the Yankees as a team, their ownership, their overspending, many of their arrogant fans who are fans of the Yankees but not of the institution of baseball, those fans who thing a championship is an entitlement, and some of their cheating players. But nothing would cause me to react to the tragic death of a player of any team with wanton glee. |
