Always looking ahead, are TEE still on the hook for his salary in 2006?
Or does George hire the same people the GOP does?

Teddy

Most likely, insurance would kick in for this type of situation.

I think you meant 2007. He completed the 2006 season, so there is no
reason why he or his estate would not be paid for 2006.

As for 2007, unless his contract or the player agreement provides
otherwise, when an accident occurs that makes fulfilling the contract
impossible, general principles of law would relieve the team from
paying the salary to a deceased player. The legal term for a
situation where a contract cannot be completed is "force majeure".

Of course they were. I assume they paid it in full by the season's
end. He would've been a free agent.

Most player contracts will have exclusions to the club's liability forthings like sky diving and piloting your own plane.

That's not the point. His contract ended when the Yanks were
eliminated. He was supposed to be a free agent now. The Yanks were
liable for his services rendered until the end of the season. That was
Saturday so I assume he got all his paychecks. They can't void his
contract retroactively because the last year of his contract is 2006.

I was reading, I think on ESPN... the yankees have a stipulation in all of
their contracts that if a player is hurt outside of practice or during a
game and can not perforn, they will not be paid.
