Is the DH flexible?

At this point, I'd rather have the pitcher bat for himself and have
someone else DH for Chavez.

A couple solo HRs when the outcome was already determined and there was
no stress... big f-ing whoop. Where is he when the game is still close
and there's a couple men on base waiting to cross home plate? Walking
back to the dugout after a weak strikeout, that's where he is.
